Current recommendation of the German STIKO for the covid 19 vaccination:
- For all above 18 years and pregnant women without chronical disease there should be a basic immunity consisting of three contacts with the covid 19 antigen: either by direct infection with the virus or by vaccination. One contact should be at least by a covid 19 jab.
- The incomplete basic immunity can be fulfilled by covid 19 vaccination.
- Unvaccinated and uninfected persons should receive three jabs: on day one – 4 to 12 Weeks thereafter – and 6 months after the 2. jab.
- Pregnant women may be vaccinated from the 2nd trimester onward.
- Breastfeeding women can be vaccinated like the common population and those with additional risks.
- No need for healthy children and adolescents under 18 years to have covid 19 jab.
- Children and adolescents from the age of 6 months:
- with chronical disease
- living in home care or
- adolescents with increased occupational risk working in medical institution or home care
should have the basic immunity (three antigen contacts) and the annual refresher jab in autumn.
- All above 60 years should have the annual refresher jab in autumn.
- Equally the annual refresher jab in autumn for all with chronical disease, home care residents, medical and home care professionals.
